Session 1 – Creating your breakfast mug
What you will learn:
Texture a clay slab with a variety of stamps and patterns.
Create a mug with or without a handle.
Prepare the piece for the bisque firing.
Your mug will be carefully transported back to our studio to dry completely before being bisque fired (depending on temperature and humidity this can take a week or more and cannot be rushed) After the firing, we will check, clean and prepare your piece ready for the second session.
Session 2 – Glazing your piece **3rd May - 10am-11.30am - Kilmallie Hall
What you will learn:
Glaze your bisque-fired piece.
Experiment with different glazing techniques to create unique finishes.
We’ll bring the pieces to our studio to dry, and glaze fire them and we’ll let you know when they are ready for collection.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
What to bring
Your booking confirmation in printed or digital form.
An apron or comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting clay on.
Pictures of items you would love to make in a future workshop.
Arrival time
Please arrive 10 minutes before the workshop starts to allow time for signing in.
If you arrive 30 minutes late or more without prior notification, we reserve the right to deny entry to the workshop without a refund or the option to reschedule.
Collection and postage of your pottery
Your finished piece will be available for collection approximately one month after the first workshop. We will let you know as soon as your piece is ready for pick-up.
Due to limited storage space, we can only hold onto your creations for 2 weeks after they come out of the kiln. If you cannot collect them within this time, please contact us to arrange postage at an additional cost. Unclaimed pottery after 4 weeks will unfortunately need to be disposed of.
Good to know
Working with clay is a natural process, and results may vary. Please keep the following in mind:
Our white stoneware clay shrinks by approximately 15% during firing, so finished pieces will be smaller than when first created.
Occasionally, pots may crack or break during firing – (bisque & glaze firings)
Glazes may look slightly different from samples or other people’s pieces.
Shallow textures may not appear as expected in the final result.
While we use best practice to prevent accidental damage, they are part of the unpredictability of pottery.
