Handmade Ceramic Tudor style Vase
A richly detailed handmade ceramic vase inspired by the beautiful Tudor dresses once worn through castle halls and candlelit gatherings.
When I started making this vase, I kept thinking about the beautiful Tudor dresses you see in old Royal portraits and in Scottish castles. The panelled shape, soft lattice detailing, and flowing floral patterns are all influenced by the textures, embroidery, and elegant structure of historic gowns. Deep teal and mossy green glazes sit beside warm stone-coloured clay, giving the piece an old-world feel while still fitting naturally into a modern home.
So instead of making a smooth round vase, I created it to look like a dress with the different layers of the skirt and the mantle . Each section has its own pattern and texture. The raised lattice detail and the tiny carved flowers which soften it and make it feel more like fabric.
