Workshop Info

Make your own Monoprinted Plate!

Come and have a go at monoprinting with coloured slips on clay! This playful technique allows you to create unique, one-of-a-kind designs by layering and transferring slip onto the surface of your own handmade plate.

Whether you prefer bold patterns, delicate textures, or abstract designs, this workshop will guide you through the process.

No experience is needed—just bring your imagination and some clothes you don’t mind getting messy.

What you will learn:

  • Create a colourful pattern on a slab of clay with a variety of stamps and stencils.

  • Make 1, or 2 smaller plates freehand or using a former.

  • Prepare the pieces for the bisque firing.

Your piece(s) will be carefully transported back to our studio to dry completely before being bisque fired (depending on temperature and humidity this can take a week or more and cannot be rushed). After the firing, we will check, clean and glaze the pieces with a clear glossy glaze and do the final firing to glaze temperatures.

What’s Included:

  • All materials (white stoneware clay, coloured slips, clear glaze)

  • Two firings (bisque and glaze)

  • Tuition
